Breastfeed Husband Toy

(1991) - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Once again I have to thank my friend James the introduction in my ears from a wonderful group and again, how could it be otherwise, through their best album, this Blood Sugar Sex Magik .

I have memories of second half of the 90's being in a room in our neighborhood Aluche in Madrid , listening to this record and inflated to smoke what pillábamos to Olivo in the Cerro de Almodovar . Are diffuse and very special memories because in those days we formed us as individuals and educábamos us to each other through music that we discovered. Were years in which we accepted for show how we tried to guide our parents and teachers because there was no way in our affluent middle class status English but those from within our own designs and we where the fun, the friendship and drunkenness forged our personalities off the baton of music . So as the disks before us were so important to us and showed us the way forward in order to become a wild and unruly teenagers . The

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is an album of 73:54 minutes when blank CDs at the time had a capacity of 74 minutes (Yes, I taped it and so far, I never bought) is composed of 17 fun and deep songs that goes beyond most 4 minutes, combine a low elaboradísimos and a heterogeneous battery clean and catchy, a young voice and ready to party and some guitars in hands, in my view and today, the number 1 in office: John Frusciante . I want to emphasize this member over others because of stage has always been what I've wanted to be . see him move and lean back while playing melodies as easily as well known and of such quality is a real pleasure.

I have to say I've never been a scholar of funk or the rap and even after listening to this album I have followed these genres with much interest but the provision imposed by the RHCP on all their albums makes me think before the quality of musicians that I have before me against the style of music I'm listening. And I make this statement without losing any of the disks that have been published because since returning to action in 1999 with the "Californication " a lot of "experts" have dedicated themselves to criticize without mercy, is some who have lost a bit of freshness and, perhaps, originality, and already a little older, yes, but they all deserve my respect.

Highlights:
  • The guitarists. It's funny but, contrary to the norm, RHCP I stay with the movement that have been in the position of a guitarist. As I said, Frusciante is and will be one of my true idols, but I will not forget the "One Hot Minute " (1995) or Dave Navarro . I think it's a great record and that the former Jane's Addiction had much to do with it. It hurts a lot, then that since the return of Frusciante have not returned to touch a theme of this album because the live will lose large pieces.
  • The simple but beautiful solo of " I Could Have Lied ." Simple and beautiful as so many of John.
  • The great song that names the album: " Blood Sugar Sex Magik "

Temple of the Dog (1991) - Temple of the dog

was undoubtedly the right time. Definitely, the perfect year and the right actors to make a record so full of feeling quality and improvised like this "Temple of the dog " The reason for the emergence of this group was the death of Andrew Wood , singer of Mother Love Bone "

The album credits are very significant of why and how of it: [...] Andrew Wood, Who Lived with Chris , Work with Jeff , + played an occasional September with acoustic Stone. Green River broke up + Andrew joined Stone + Jeff . ... Mother love bone . Life was great. Soundgarden made records, toured, ¿pocked? hard, flourished. Mother love bone made records + and was on the verge of... And we all lost our beautiful friend, Andrew . The rest of us hung. Told stories. Helped each other, laughed, cried. Life was confusing. Chris wrote two amazing songs about Andy ( Say hello to heaven and Reach down , asked Stone + Jeff + Matt 2 record them. Yes. Life moves on. We jammed. Guitar wizard, master of animal sounds Mike came by. We did coffe. We huge carcass-less meals with cyclops and drank with septiem + the other Gods. Music flowed, we got excited, played a show, wrote more songs + peeled in a(n) 10 pounder. ...In a good way. 10 songs. Spontaneous. Creation. Emotion. Very pleasing. Real music. No analyzing. No pressure. No hype. Just music to make music. Frineds and a reason. Chemistry. Beauty. LIFE RULES!

En definitiva, Matt Cameron (batería de Soundgarden ) Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament (guitarist and bassist for Pearl Jam ) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden voice ) went submerged in origins of the imminent explosion of Grunge and decided to make this tribute to Andrew Wood . Thus, between November and December 1990 together with a couple of ideas Cornell (who wrote the music for seven of the 10 songs and lyricist of them all) and gave shape and life to this great album that, despite having touches both Pearl Jam (Guitars) and Soundgarden (drums) has a personality marked by influences anything related to music that was made and continued to do in Seattle the early 90's. So, on this record are appreciated instruments, vocals and reminiscent bases classic rock, blues, folk and American. Music found on the roots and meaning to the listener that the pain it has caused is very much within their authors. But it is a hard sad Sadness is clearly depicted in "Say hello 2 heaven", "Hunger strike " or "Call me a dog " but there is a space for energy in "Pushing forward back " or "Your savior "

I knew about this recording but had only heard "Hunger strike "in a live Pearl Jam he bought James (remember, Jako ? This album" Live & Alive vol 2. "that you gave me) in which Vedder sang a cappella a couple of verses together with the public. I think a while later I heard a few other songs on a tape that was my cousin ... In short, showing off what it meant in those years for a teenager like me: a record of those rare and hard to take in an era without the Internet and all that that entails (P2P, eMule, MySpace etc.) It took me to have him full time, and buy it much longer original (a few months ago, in fact)

Highlights:
  • The late Saviour Your .
  • The exchange of riffs between Mike McCready and Stone Gossard in Reach Down the track extending up to 11 minutes. The short but
  • letter direct "Wooden Jesus "
